Cats choose when to interact

OUR STORY · ADOPT, DON'T SHOP
Every cat deserves a chance to feel at home.
We opened Catfé Māo in 2023 with a simple idea: help people get to know rescue cats and support their care and adoption in everyday life.
A safe place to land. A chance to start again.
Many of our cats have come from the streets or families who could no longer care for them. We provide a safe place, regular meals, daily care and veterinary support while they settle in at their own pace.
Some cats find adoptive homes, while others stay with us long-term. We always put their wellbeing ahead of visitor interaction.

How your visit makes a difference
Admission helps us cover the cats’ food, cleaning and daily care. Every visit supports the work that keeps our rescue cats safe and comfortable. Thank you for being part of it.

Washee
His story began inside a washing machine. Trust came later, one gentle grooming session at a time.
Washee was rescued from inside a washing machine and made quite an entrance by biting his rescuer’s thumb. He grew from a shy little cat to one who enjoyed gentle, toothbrush-style grooming and leaning on a human arm for pats. His slightly wobbly walk never stopped his enthusiasm for play. He has since found a loving home.

How adoption works
Read the cat’s story and visit us to meet them.
Tell us about your home, routine and plans for your new companion.
Our team reviews each application and gets in touch if there may be a good match. Please allow up to three weeks.
After approval, sign the agreement, pay the adoption fee and arrange collection with the team.
LOOKING AFTER THEM, TOGETHER
Their next chapter comes with a little extra care.
We work with Broadway Vet to support our rescue cats’ health, including veterinary checks and further care as needed. Bringing a cat home is a big commitment, and we want the whole family to feel supported.
