Cats choose when to interact

OUR STORY · ADOPT, DON'T SHOP
Every cat deserves a chance to feel at home.
We opened Catfé Māo in 2023 with a simple idea: help people get to know rescue cats and support their care and adoption in everyday life.
A safe place to land. A chance to start again.
Many of our cats have come from the streets or families who could no longer care for them. We provide a safe place, regular meals, daily care and veterinary support while they settle in at their own pace.
Some cats find adoptive homes, while others stay with us long-term. We always put their wellbeing ahead of visitor interaction.

How your visit makes a difference
Admission helps us cover the cats’ food, cleaning and daily care. Every visit supports the work that keeps our rescue cats safe and comfortable. Thank you for being part of it.

Our resident cats
Qiuqiu
The café is his kingdom, and the daily patrol is serious business. A fluffy belly is not an invitation.
Simba
Meet the boss. Simba likes his personal space, particularly just after a nap.
Cappuccino
Cappuccino is part of our resident cat team at Catfé Māo. Say hello when you visit!
Richy
She may look as though you have interrupted a very important nap, but underneath that sleepy expression is a gentle sweetheart.
Zaizai
A sensitive little soul who feels safest with gentle pats and her brother Pumpkin close by.
Hulu
A little ear tuft, a very fluffy coat and a warm purr. Hulu has her own royal rules for brushing.
Ice
Snowy fluff, bright blue eyes and a tiny moustache. Ice prefers her doors opened by a human.
Pumpkin (Nannan)
He has something to say, and he expects an answer. Keep an eye on the gate when Pumpkin is nearby.
Ice Americano
A polite little companion until the treats arrive. Then the tiny zooming warrior takes over.
Staying with us, looking for a home
Lumi

How adoption works
Read the cat’s story and visit us to meet them.
Tell us about your home, routine and plans for your new companion.
Our team reviews each application and gets in touch if there may be a good match. Please allow up to three weeks.
After approval, sign the agreement, pay the adoption fee and arrange collection with the team.
LOOKING AFTER THEM, TOGETHER
Their next chapter comes with a little extra care.
We work with Broadway Vet to support our rescue cats’ health, including veterinary checks and further care as needed. Bringing a cat home is a big commitment, and we want the whole family to feel supported.
